The purpose of the ZU / Internship Institute Advisory Council is to remain true to our core philosophy that: "Some lessons must be experienced to the learned."  The Council consists of a body of leading professionals who represent the broad interests and perspectives of the experiential education realm. Council members have been selected based on a cross-section of:

All forms of experiential learning: Internship, Co-op, Study Abroad, Service Learning

Career Services, Academic/Student Affairs, Experiential Education, Faculty Advisors

Higher education institutions of varying types, sizes and geography

Leaders from among the premier experiential education organizations

NOTE: ZU Council members serve in an individual capacity; not as official representatives of their institutions or organizational affiliations.

The Council convenes on a quarterly basis via webconference and are called upon both individually and as a whole on an ongoing basis to provide valued insight and guidance to help ZU to more readily achieve our objectives. The Council Members are given full "insider access" to ZU's initiatives and play a pivotal advisory role in such things as organizational planning and product development.

3) The Board will consist of no more than 12 individuals.

4) In contrast, the Advisory Panel(s) will be formed to complement the collective "knowledge equity" of the Board and may be sought for feedback regarding specific initiatives (i.e., employer outreach). Once such an agenda is further clarified, ZU Board members will be asked to suggest members for the Advisory Panel(s).

COUNCIL AGENDA - 2007

Naturally, the Internship Advisory Council will be called upon to lend perspective about ZU's initiatives. When relevant, agenda items may lend themselves to discuss "hot topics" in need of leadership support. Typical agenda items will include, but not be limited to:

Organizational planning and educational / awareness programs
  Product and resource development
  Initiatives to address internship-related issues
  Opportunities to foster collaboration
  Strategic planning for 2008-2010
